File:Harold Urey, c. 1932.jpg[edit]

The Emilio Segrè Visual Archives is composed of copies of images received from various donors and sources; we do not claim copyright to most images in our collections. We provide as much information as possible in our credit line and metadata; if the American Institute of Physics (AIP) is listed as the copyright holder of an image, you may use it freely without permission. If a non-AIP copyright holder is listed, we may have contact information on file and ask that you reach out to us at nbl@aip.org. Responsibility for clearing copyright for publication or public display remains with the applicant. Users with questions pertaining to copyright liability should seek their own legal counsel, as we do not provide such guidance. Please be advised that the Emilio Segrè Visual Archives will not sign any publishers' forms or any legal contracts pertaining to the use of our images. https://www.aip.org/history-programs/niels-bohr-library/rules-use-and-publication Endebyrd (talk) 15:21, 22 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

  •  Keep I am not sure if this is a reason for deletion, it appears to be a cut and paste explaining the Emilio Segrè Visual Archives policy without explaining how this image violates our/their policy. This belongs at the top of their category. Ossip Garber, the photographer died in 1951, more than 70 years ago, and I cannot find any copyright registrations under his name, assuming the studio was a sole proprietorship or "Ossip Garber Studio", assuming he may have hired anonymous workers to operate the camera. I will move a copy of this message to the category page. We should probably have a template with this wording like we have for images that originate with the Library of Congress {{LOC}}. --RAN (talk) 17:41, 22 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
